Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs the use of the AI model hosting platform, APIs, and related services provided by AKI.IO GmbH (the “Provider”). This AUP forms an integral part of the Terms and Conditions of Use and applies to all users accessing or using the Services.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of this AUP: “Services” means the AI model hosting, API access, and related infrastructure services provided by AKI.IO GmbH. “User” means any natural or legal person or entity that accesses or uses the Services. “Model Provider” means a third-party publisher or maintainer of an open-source AI model made available through the Services. “Applicable Law” means all applicable European Union and national laws and regulations, including the GDPR and related data protection laws. “Content” means any input, prompt, data, or output generated through use of the Services.

3. Role of the Provider

AKI.IO GmbH acts solely as a technical infrastructure and hosting provider. The Provider does not determine the purposes or means of processing User Content and does not monitor or control outputs by default. All Services are hosted and operated exclusively within the European Union in accordance with GDPR requirements.

4. General Use Principles

Users must use the Services lawfully, responsibly, and in compliance with this AUP, the Terms of Service, Applicable Law, and any acceptable use policies issued by the respective Model Providers. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of the Services and generated Content complies with Applicable Law.

5. Prohibited and Restricted Uses

Users must not use the Services for any illegal activity, including fraud, money laundering, or criminal acts; the creation or distribution of child sexual abuse material; the promotion or support of violence, terrorism, or weapons development; hate speech, harassment, or discrimination; deception, impersonation, disinformation, or deepfakes intended to mislead; spam, phishing, social engineering, or abusive mass messaging; malware, hacking, or cyberattacks; unlawful surveillance, biometric identification, or data scraping; infringement of intellectual property or data protection rights; training or replication of competing AI models using the Services; or pornographic content. Use of the Services for medical, legal, or financial purposes is prohibited unless the User is appropriately licensed, qualified, and fully compliant with all Applicable Law.

6. Open-Source Model Provider Policies

Where the Services provide access to open-source AI models from third-party Model Providers, the model provider's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is an integral part of this AUP. The exact wording of the model provider's AUP can be found in the open source license, which is linked for each AI model in our Model Playground. In the event of any conflict between this AUP and a Model Provider’s AUP, the stricter provision shall prevail.

7. User Responsibility

Users bear full responsibility for all downstream use of the Services and generated Content. Users must assess the suitability, legality, and compliance of outputs before deployment or distribution. AKI.IO GmbH does not provide legal, regulatory, or professional advice and does not assume responsibility for User Content.

8. Enforcement and Monitoring

The Provider reserves the right to actively monitor usage patterns for compliance with this AUP. In the event of a violation or suspected violation, the Provider may, at its sole discretion, restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Services, including immediate API key deactivation, without prior notice. The Provider may pursue civil or criminal remedies where appropriate.

9. Reporting

Suspected misuse or violations may be reported to support@aki.io.

10. Amendments

This AUP may be updated from time to time. The current version is published on the Provider’s website and becomes effective upon publication.
